Our Philosophy
At Chalet Zillertal Arena, we believe that the most memorable holidays are born from a true love for the mountains, great company, and a place that genuinely feels like home. For more than 25 years, the Dijkstra family has infused this philosophy into every single detail—from the crackling fireplaces to the panoramic terrace views of our chalets. We are not a corporate hotel chain; we are a family, and we welcome every guest as part of our own.
Our Story
It all began with a young Dutchman from Haarlem and a profound passion for the Austrian Alps.
Jasper Dijkstra first fell in love with the Zillertal Arena almost 40 years ago. He was drawn by the guarantee of deep snow, the authentic warmth of alpine culture, and the extraordinary settings of Königsleiten and Hochkrimml, perched beautifully above 1,650 meters. He didn’t just visit—he stayed.
Together with his family, Jasper took over the historic Gasthof Edelweisshaus, a traditional Austrian guesthouse nestled directly on the slopes of Königsleiten at 1,630 meters, just 50 meters from the ski lifts. Under their care, it quickly became a beloved meeting point for skiers, families, and lifelong friends—a unique place where authentic Austrian Gemütlichkeit seamlessly blended with warm Dutch gezelligheid in one of the finest destinations on the mountain.
As the years passed and the family’s roots in the region grew even deeper, they envisioned a way to evolve this beautiful legacy. This led to the creation of our collection of premium, private holiday chalets, thoughtfully designed to give our guests the space, luxury, and absolute independence to truly make the mountains their own.
